Sincona sale 69, lot 100

This specimen was lot 100 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 2,300 CHF (about US$3,053 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND | Augsburg, Stadt. Dukat 1662. Mit Titel Leopolds I. Sehr selten. Gutes sehr schön. Gewellt. (Germany, city of Augsburg, ducat of 1662, struck in the name of Leopold I. Very rare, Good very fine, Wavy flan.)"

This type was struck 1658-64, 1667-77. The superseding type (KM 92) had different arms on the obverse.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.43 g.
