This specimen is one of a type struck 1951-53 for Argentina at the Buenos Aires mint. Strangely, the ten centavos was switched from copper-nickel to nickel plated steel midway thru 1952 but this was not done with the five centavos.

Recorded mintage: 33,110,000.

Specification: 2 g, copper-nickel, 17.3 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Mario Baiardi (1909-72).
