Anhalt 1901-A 10 mark
This specimen was lot 4002 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €4,000 (about US$5,391 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, ANHALT, Friedrich I. 1871-1904. 10 Mark 1901. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung PF 64 ULTRA CAMEO. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Polierte Platte. (unified gold coinage, duchy of Anhalt, Frederick I, 1871-1904, ten mark of 1901, in NGC PR-64 holder. Very rare in this quality, proof.)"
This and the accompanying twenty mark were the last gold issues from this state with the exception of a twenty mark from 1904.
