Sincona sale 9, lot 3683

This specimen was lot 3683 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$759 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Anhalt-Dessau, Herzogtum Leopold Friedrich, 1817-1871. Vereinstaler 1858. FDC. (Duchy of Anhalt-Dessau, Leopold Frederick, 1817-71, union thaler of 1858, uncirculated.)"

This type is recorded for 1858, 1866 and 1869 and is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: 27,000.

Specification: 18.52 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 18.51 g.
