Andorra 1965 50 diners
This specimen was lot 2007 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €6,500 (about US$8,942 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ANDORRA, Fürstentum. 50 Diners in Gold 1965. Parlamentsgebäude. Medaillenprägung. Mit Riffelrand. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Laut K./M. nur 8 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte. Das vorliegende Exemplar wurde von Hans M. F. Schulman (New York), mit der Genehmigung der Regierung von Andorra, vertrieben. (principality of Andorra, fifty diners in gold of 1965. Parliament building, medallic issue, reeded edge. Very rare, only 8 examples struck per the SCWC. Proof. This specific example was distributed by Hans M. F. Schulman (New York) with the authorization of the Government of Andorra.)"
Andorra, a protectorate of France and Spain, isn't really supposed to issue coins but occasionally markets NCLT's anyway. Numista states this was struck in Munich.
Recorded mintage: 2,500 in silver plus 8 in gold plus more in platinum.
Specification: KM X12: 28 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter; KM X12a: gold; KM X12b: platinum, reeded edge. This specimen gold, 38,23 mm diameter; 34,85 g (31,37 g fine gold).
