This specimen was lot 497 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "DURRANI: Ayyub Shah, 1817-1829, AR rupee, Peshawar, AH(12)46 year 12, type struck only in AH1245-1246, always within his regnal year 12, XF-AU, RR." We can read the regnal year ("۱۲") but nothing of the calendar date. Another rupee (KM 738) is dated on both sides. The SCWC says Ayyub Shah ruled 1817-29 but Wikipedia states his reign lasted only 1819-23 before he was ousted by the Barakzais.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specifications: 10.4-10.6 g, silver, this specimen 10.59 g.
Catalog reference: A-3135C, KM 734.
