Afghanistan AH 1207(19) falus KM-650
This specimen was lot 2061 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "DURRANI: Taimur Shah, 1772-1793, AE falus, Multan, AH1207 year 19, bold strike, very rare with legible date & regnal year, VF-XF, R." This type was struck years 3 thru 19 and has a low catalog value. Wikipedia comments, "The Durrani Empire (Pashto: د درانيانو ټولواکمني), also called the Sadozai Kingdom and the Afghan Empire, was founded and built by Ahmad Shah Abdali in parts of Central Asia, Middle East and South Asia. At its maximum extent, the empire ruled over the modern-day countries of Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as parts of northeastern and southeastern Iran, eastern Turkmenistan, and northwestern India." Taimur Shah was the second Durrani king and had to contend with rebellious tribal chiefs and the Sikhs, who had seized Multan, Lahore and Sindh. He left many sons, who fought among themselves for the throne while the kingdom broke up.
