Steve Album sale 55, lot 2496

This specimen was lot 2496 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDORE: Shivaji Rao, 1886-1903, AR rupee, Malharnagar, VS1950, wonderful full strike! NGC graded lustrous MS64." This type was struck VS1947-1955 (1890-98) and is common. It was accompanied by KM 41, an eighth rupee, KM 42, a quarter rupee, and KM 43, a half rupee. The print edition of the SCWC incorrectly lists this as an issue of Shivaji's successor Tukoji Rao III.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 10.7-11.6 g, silver.

Catalog reference: KM-44.
