This product of the Franklin mint was issued 1971-76. Proofs outnumber circulation strikes. The Franklin Mint ceased to produce coins for Jamaica in 1984 and the island obtains its coins from other contractors.

Recorded mintage: 13,000 uncirculated plus 28,000 proofs.

Specification: 11.31 g, copper-nickel, 28.5 mm diameter (same standard as a British florin of 1947-67 or ten pence of 1968-92).

Catalog reference: KM-55.
