This fifty centimos was struck for Paraguay in 1944 and 1951. It was accompanied by aluminum bronze one, five, ten and twenty-five centimos. The 1953 issue was the last coin for Paraguay until the 1972 Olympic commemoratives. The peso was dropped in favor of the guarani in 1944.

Recorded mintage: 2,893,000 (common in all grades).
