Ukraine 1996 200 hryven Fr-6
This specimen was lot 73344 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "UKRAINE. 200 Hryven, 1996. NGC PROOF-67 Cameo. This glistening architectural type celebrates the Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv, one of the spiritual treasures of Ukraine." The auctioneers spelled it Pechersk Lavra and the SCWC spelled it Pecherska Lavra and both appear to be correct. Wikipedia comments, "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra or Kyivo-Pechers’ka Lavra (Ukrainian: Києво-Печерська лавра, romanized: Kyievo-Pecherska lavra; Russian: Киeво-Печерская лавра, romanized: Kiyevo-Pecherskaya lavra), also known as the Kiev Monastery of the Caves, is a historic Eastern Orthodox Christian monastery which gave its name to one of the city districts where it is located in Kyiv." At present (June 2026), US$1 = 45.07 hryven.
