Stephen Album Online Auction 15, lot 134

This specimen was lot 134 in Stephen Album Online Auction 15 (Santa Rosa, CA, April 2022), where it sold for $168 with buyers premium. The catalog description noted, "GERMAN STATES: AACHEN: Free Imperial City, AE 12 heller, 1767, KM-51, a wonderful mint state example with partial original red luster! PCGS graded MS64 BN". This coin was struck 1757-1761, 1764-1767, 1790-1794, 1797-1798, According to Numista, 48 of these coins made a thaler.

Mint/ Mint Official's Initials: Aachen; IK = Johann Kohl, Mint Master from 1764-1790.

Recorded mintage: 1,248,000.

Specification: 4.4 g, copper, 24 mm diameter. Obverse: Eagle dividing date to it's sides and mint official's initial's below: 17 92 / I K; Reverse: Value with flowering tree branch crosses with long leafed plant branch below; XII / HELLER / REICHS / STADT / ACHEN (12 / HELLER / Imperial / City / (of) Aachen).
