This specimen was lot 1723 in Jean Elsen sale 163 (Brussels, November 2025), where it sold for €1,150 (about US$1,328 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAHAMAS, AV 100 dollars, 1978. 5e anniversaire de l'indépendance. (Bahamas, Elizabeth II, 1952-2022, gold one hundred dollars of 1978, for the fifth anniversary of independence. Proof.)"
Prince Charles appears on the reverse, a few years before his disastrous marriage to Lady Diana.
