Sedwick sale 11, lot 990

The specimen shown was lot 990 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $2,012.50. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Bogotá, Colombia, bust 2 reales, Charles IV, 1794/3JJ, rare. Attractively toned and problem-free AVF, good contrast overall, with top-right tip of 3 visible to right of 4 in date. Jorge Ortiz Murias collection of Colombian colonial minors."

The SCWC lists five dates for Nuevo Reino between 1792-98, all rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.896 fine silver, .194 troy oz ASW, this specimen 6.8 grams.
