This type was struck in 1929 along with a silver five francs (KM 38). Luxembourg, occupied and devastated by German occupation during World War One, was enjoying a brief respite of peace before the Nazis would repeat the experience again during World War Two.

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000.

Specification: 13.5 g, 0.750 fine silver, .323 troy oz ASW.
