This specimen was lot 40228 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Beautiful 5 Ounce Gold Issue with a Miniscule Mintage. GREAT BRITAIN. Gold 500 Pounds (5 Ounces), 2016. Llantrisant Mint. Elizabeth II. GEM PROOF. A breathtakingly RARE modern Bullion issue with a mintage that does not even approach triple figures, this hefty 5 Ounce 500 Pound offering is glowing with an entrancing luster and displays commendable cameo contrast between deeply frosted devices and mirrored fields. The impressive artistry in the engraving done by Suzie Zamit and Jody Clark is on full display, with very little to be desired on this piece. With the original box of issue and certificate of authenticity numbering 37." This specimen was offered again as lot 33203 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $.
