This specimen was lot 75821 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $1,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "VANUATU. 10000 Vatu, 1981. Llantrisant Mint. NGC MS-69. An alluring and handsome example yielding rich luster and handsome nearly flawless appeal." Vanuatu was formerly the New Hebrides islands, a condominium of France and Great Britain, and obtained her independence in 1980. The economy is dependent on exports of frozen fish.
