This specimen was lot 3587 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 9,000 CHF (about US$12,045 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SPANIEN, Carlos III, Pretendiente, 1700-1714. 2 Escudos 1707, Mallorca. Mit dem Münzmeisterzeichen von Gaspar de Puigdorfila. +CAROL (Rosette) III.R.ARA. 1707 (Die Ziffern 7 des Datums sind spiegelverkehrt). Rv. +MAIORICARV:(Münzmeisterzeichen):CATOLICVS. . Äusserst selten. Gutes sehr schön. Doppelschlag. Exemplar der Auktion Vico 130, Madrid, Juni 2012, Los 686. Exemplar der Slg. A. M. Huntington (HSA), 1001.1.16799 (kingdom of Spain, Charles III, pretender, 1700-14, two escudos of 1707, Mallorca mint, with the assayer's initials of Gaspar de Puigdorfila. The "7's" in the date are reversed. Extremely rare, Good very fine, Double struck)." This very rare type was accompanied by a one escudo (KM 46) and four escudos (KM 48), also very rare.
