Sincona sale 38, lot 1194

This specimen was lot 1194 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 3,600 CHF (about US$4,318 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Lübeck, Stadt, Dukat 1729. Titel Karls VI. und dem Bürgermeisterwappen von Adolph Matthias Rodde und Hermann Rodde. Von großer Seltenheit. Vorzüglich-FDC. Kleine Kratzer. (Germany, city of Lubeck, ducat of 1729, struck in the name of Charles VI and the burger master. Of the highest rarity, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Minor scratches.)"
