Hungary 1734-NB 1/4 thaler
This specimen was lot 3159 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$180 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Karl VI. 1711-1740. 1/4 Taler 1734 NB, Nagy[ban]ya. Sehr schön. Kleine Kratzer. (Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, quarter thaler of 1734, Nagybánya mint. Very fine, Small scratches.)"
This type was struck 1727-40 and is fairly common. The "NB" mintmark is not mentioned in the SCWC but is clearly visible on this example and on the plate coin. This is the last quarter thaler struck in Hungary.
