Sincona sale 47, lot 1463
Constance in 1803, on its annexation by Baden, from Putzger's atlas

This specimen was lot 1463 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"GERMANY, Konstanz, Stadt, Halbtaler o. J. (um 1622). Die beiden Heiligen, Konrad und Pelagius, stehen nebeneinander; vor sich das Stadtwappen. Rv. Gekrönter, nimbierter Doppeladler. Äusserst seltene Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (Germany, city of Constance, undated half thaler. Obverse: SS. Conrad and Pelagius stand together, city arms below; reverse: crowned, nimbate double headed eagle. Extremely rare condition, About uncirculated.)"

This rare type was accompanied by an even rarer half thaler klippe (KM 122).
