Sincona sale 90, lot 1003

This specimen was lot 1003 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 6,900 CHF (about US$9,118 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Augsburg, Stadt, Dukat 1711, Augsburg. Auf die Krönung Karls VI. zum römischen Kaiser. Stempelschneider Philipp Heinrich Müller. Sehr selten. NGC MS62. (Germany, city of Augsburg, ducat of 1711, Augsburg mint, for the coronation of Charles VI as Roman emperor. Very rare, uncirculated.)"

In 1711, the city issued this rare ducat to celebrate the coronation of Charles VI. Other ducats of 1711 include KM 121/Fr-83 (Joseph I) and KM 123/Fr-85 (Charles VI, pine cone reverse).
