Sincona sale 94, lot 3114

This specimen was lot 3114 in Sincona sale 94 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 2,600 CHF (about US$3,604 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, Ecu pistolet 1565, Genf. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. Kleine Kratzer. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, écu pistolet of 1565, Geneva mint. Rare, Good Very Fine, Small scratches.)"

Friedberg lists this obscure type for 1562-86 and notes that the last écu pistolet was struck in 1642.

Specification: 3.31 g, 0.917 fine gold, this specimen 2.90 g.
