Sincona sale 77, lot 3106

This specimen was lot 3106 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 80 CHF (about US$97 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Karl XV. 1859-1872. 25 Öre 1871, Stockholm. NGC MS65." This date is the final issue of a type struck 1862-67 and 1871 as part of the reform of 1855. In 1873, the riksdaler riksmynt was dropped in favor of the krona and this denomination was adjusted to 2.42 g, 0.600 fine silver.

Recorded mintage: 660,000, including an 1871/61 overdate.

Specification: 2.13 g, 0.750 fine silver.
