This specimen was lot 576 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $302.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY, Regno d'Italia. Umberto I. 1878-1900. CU 10 Centesimi. Rome mint. Dated 1894 R. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 66 RB. Gem coin with muted red overall. Highest ever graded. A superb coin." This type of 1893-94 represented the first issue of the denomination since 1867. Worn specimens fill dealer junk boxes.
