Hohenlohe 1699 ducat rev P182-650.jpg
Hohenlohe in 1648

This specimen was lot 650 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,290. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Oehringen. Ducat, 1699. NGC AU-55. Johann Friedrich I (1676-1702)." This is the only ducat noted for this insignificant locality in the seventeenth century. As one might surmise, it is rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 22, Fr-1335.
