All minting during the French protectorate period occurred in Paris (note the privy marks). This type was struck for circulation in 1921, 1924, 1926, 1941 and 1945; none are rare. The French left in 1956 and in 1957 a republic was established, ousting the discredited monarchy.

Recorded mintage: 1,976,000.

Specification: 8 g, aluminum bronze, 27 mm diameter, reeded edge.
