This specimen was lot 23947 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $2,585. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Edward VI (1547-53) Crown 1551, VF25 NGC, a handsomely toned and fairly sharp example of this classic, first English crown to feature an armored rider riding on an armored steed." Davenport notes this issue of 1551-53 as the first and only English crown of the sxiteenth century. It was struck at the Tower and Southwark mints.
