This specimen was lot 908 in Jean Elsen sale 133 (Brussels, June 2017), where it sold for €150 (about US$198 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Keizer Karel (1506-1555), Cu korte, 1549, Brugge. Vz/ Gekroond hoofd r. Kz/ Klimmende leeuw l. Zeer Fraai à Prachtig. (county of Flanders, emperor Charles V, 1506-55, copper korte of 1549, Bruges mint. Obverse: crowned head; reverse: lion rampant to left. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
We aren't sure what the face value of this coin was but as its weight matches that of this maille from Artois, we'll presume it was one-third of a liard.
Reported Mintage: unknown.
Specification: copper, this specimen 1,76 g.
Catalog reference: G.H. 198-5b.
