This specimen was lot 10055 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €1,680 (about US$1,751). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 8 Skilling, 1544. Christian III. NGC EF Details--Bent. A rare coin as are all of Christian III's 8 Skillings. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex. Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex. Peter F. Suhm Collection (Copenhagen, 1800/1802) Lot# 1317." At this time one gulden was 48 skilling; the specie daler would not appear until later.
