Stack's Bowers September 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 76494

This specimen was lot 76494 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasty. Kran, AH 1244 (1828/29). Yazd Mint. Fath 'Ali Shah. NGC EF-45. A pleasing and wholesome representative, delivering nicely retained details, with sharp allure and limited signs of actual handling." The Yazd mint struck this "type E" kran AH 1241-1250, one of 26 mints to do so. Ten kran made a toman.
