Regensburg 1563 2 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3049 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €110 (about US$144 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FERDINAND I., 1558-1564. 2 Kreuzer (1/2 Batzen) 1563, mit Titel Ferdinands I. Münzmeister Martin Walch. R Sehr schön. (city of Regensburg, two kreuzer or half batzen of 1563, struck in the name of Ferdinand I. Rare, very fine.)"
This rare type was struck 1563 only. By the end of the century, the gulden (sixty kreuzer) would have slipped from one thaler to 5/6 thaler.
