This specimen was lot 3584 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 40,000 CHF (about US$53,532 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SPANIEN, Juana y Carlos, 1504-1516-1555. 4 Reales 1547, Zaragoza. +IOANA:ET KAROLVS:REX:ARAGONVM. Gekrönter Schild von Aragon, zwischen dem Wert R-IIII. Rv. TROPEA: RENVN:ARAGONVN:1547. Schild mit dem Kreuz von Alcoraz zwischen C-A, darüber Kreuz mit vier Ringeln in den Winkeln. Von grösster Seltenheit. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Aussergewöhnliche Prägung mit feiner Tönung. Exemplar der Auktion Vico 130, Madrid, Juni 2012, Los 557. Exemplar der Slg. A. M. Huntington (HSA), 1001.1.26769 (Spain, kingdom of Aragon, Juana and Carlos, 1516-55, four reales of 1547, Zaragoza mint. Obverse: crowned shield of Aragon dvides the value; reverse: shield with the cross of Alcoraz at the top divides "C - A", four pellets around the cross. Of the highest rarity, Very fine-extremely fine, Extraordinary piece with nice toning)." This rare type was issued again in 1554. The mintmark "CA" may stand for "Caesar Augusta", the original Roman name of Zaragoza.
