Kunker sale 263, lot 1354

This specimen was lot 1354 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HERZOGTUM Die schlesischen Stände. Einseitige 6-Talerklippe 1621, Ohlau. Feine Patina, attraktives, sehr schönes Exemplar. (Germany, duchy of Silesia, six thaler klippe, Ohlau mint. Toned, attractive very fine.)"

This enigmatic piece is not listed in Davenport but may be a siege issue. Tho denominated six thalers, it weighed less than one. A three thaler klippe (KM 24) is also reported.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.

Specification: silver, this specimen 23.85 g.
