This specimen was lot 2440 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $119. The catalog description[1] noted, "QAJAR: Fath 'Ali Shah, 1797-1834, AR riyal, Zanjan, AH1233, lovely strike, very rare mint for type D, some minor porosity on the reverse, bold VF to EF, RR." The type D one rial was supposed to weigh 9.21 g. The Zanjan mint product is priced double that for Yazd. It was struck AH 1232-1234.

Specification: 9.21 g, silver, this specimen 9.10 g.
