The specimen shown is a type struck in Chile 1921-27. It was the last Chilean peso to contain silver. The succeeding copper-nickel type (KM 176) was issued 1933 and 1940. This subtype is noted for 1921-22. Oscar Roty's defiant condor, first used in 1895, appeared on virtually all Chilean silver and copper-nickel coins until 1940.
