France 1985 100 francs rev DSLR.jpg

This issue, an NCLT, commemorates the centennial of Emile Zola's novel Germinal. Le Franc warns that circulating counterfeits exist. It was demonetized with the coming of the euro and now trades for bullion. This type was also struck in gold (Fr-600) and is rare thus.

Recorded mintage: 4,000,511.

Specification: 15 g, .900 fine silver, plain edge.

Catalog reference: F.453/2; KM-957.
