This specimen was lot 396 in Schulman auction 379 (Amsterdam, June 2024), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,092 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy - Scudo 1683, Silver, GENOVA Seated Madonna and child. Rev. cross with stars. Well-struck for the type. NGC AU55. Extremely fine." Altho this type was struck without change from 1637 to 1725, it does not turn up often. Mintmaster SM appeared 1679-84.
