This two hundred réis was issued 1854-67. It superseded a larger coin (KM 455) struck 1835-48. Its replacement bears the portrait of emperor Pedro II (KM 471) and is slightly lighter. An 1856/5 overdate exists but earns no premium in the SCWC.
Recorded mintage: 103,000.
Specification: 2.55 g, 0.917 fine, .075 troy oz ASW.
