This specimen is a common date of a type struck at the Paris mint 1962-2001. Struck in large numbers in the sixties and seventies, in later years inflation caused the mint to skip years where possible. Altho all dates were struck for the mint sets sold to collectors (whence came the specimen shown), the last date struck for circulation was 1979. The French five centimes of 1961-64 shares this stainless steel design.
Recorded mintage: 47,834,000.
Specification: 1.65 g, stainless steel, 15 mm diameter, plain edge.
Catalog reference: F.106/10, KM 928.
