This specimen was lot 4799 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it sold for $5,220. The catalog description [2] noted, "German States - Lippe-Detmold. Taler, 1658. Hermann Adolf, 1652-1666. Facing bust. Reverse: Crowned arms. Toned. NGC graded AU-55." This issue from this tiny state in central Germany is quite rare.
