This specimen was lot 41539 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCOTLAND. 12 Shillings (Shilling Sterling), ND (1637-42). Edinburgh Mint; mm: thistle. Charles I. NGC AU-50. Third Coinage, Intermediate issue. Delicate pearl-grey tone with warmer golden patina near the borders. Sharply struck with full legends and good central detail. Tremendous satiny luster glows in the fields. Trivial marks noted around the denomination on the obverse. From the Loch Ness Collection."
This twelve shillings would have traded for an English shilling.
