This specimen was lot 23219 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria I and Pedro III gold 6400 Reis 1782R, AU58 NGC, highly lustrous with virtually no wear evident, close to mint state." The Bahia mint issues are generally scarcer than the Rio issues.
Recorded mintage: 324,000.
Specification: 14.34 g, 0.917 fine gold, .423 troy oz AGW.
