Greece 1830 10 lepta KM-3
This specimen was lot 54087 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREECE. 10 Lepta, 1830. Aegina Mint. NGC AU-58. Variety with sold circle surrounding Greek Eagle. An impressive nearly uncirculated example, this 10 Lepta delivers strongly retained details, with only the slightest instances of handling." After wresting her independence from the Turks, Greece was established as a republic under John Capodistrias. This regime lasted until 1831. Another variety (KM 8) exists for 1803 with a circle of pearls around the phoenix.
