Colombia 1794-NR JJ real
This specimen was lot 1123 in Sedwick sale 34 (Winter Park, FL, November 2023), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bogota, Colombia, bust 1 real, Charles IV, 1794/3 J.J, very rare, NGC VG 8. Very deeply toned in a rainbow of colors, full rims, some central weakness but undeniably worn as well, nevertheless tied with one other for finest in NGC census and one of the best of only five or six known (Restrepo says three). Pedigreed to the Gregorio Toulemonde Collection (stated on label)." The SCWC lists eleven dates for this one real from Nuevo Reino between 1792-1804, all scarce.
