Revision as of 18:47, 15 September 2023 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "* return to Peru" to "* return to coinage of Peru")
This quinto was struck 1863-75 in Lima, Peru. Most dates are readily available including this one. For this date, there is one overdate (1875/65) and two assayers (YB and YJ). This is the only date for which the assayer combination YJ exists. A later type, with a slightly different figure of seated Liberty, was struck 1888-1917 (KM 205). The type was replaced by a copper-nickel twenty centavos in 1918.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM 191.
