Sincona sale 38, lot 1732

This specimen was lot 1732 in Sincona sale 38 (Zurich, May 2017), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$840 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Prithvi Bir Bikram, 1881-1911 Tola 1823 SE. (1901 AD.). FDC. (Nepal, Prithvi Bir Bikram, 1881-1911, gold tola of SE 1823. Uncirculated.)"

This type is listed for SE 1807, 1817, 1820-1826 (1885-1904) and is scarce. Some coins are dated using the Saka Era (SE) and others using the Bikram Samvat Era (VS).
