This specimen was lot 72700 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 5 Ore, 1890-CS. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IX. NGC AU-50. Displaying with silky brown surfaces, this wholesome example is rather attractive. While not the lowest mintage of the type, it is the most valued according to the Krause book." This type was struck 1874-75, 1882-84, 1890-91. It is common as a type but many of the dates are rare. This one is scarce.
