This specimen was lot 72563 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "BULGARIA. 5 Leva, 1978. Sofia Mint. NGC PROOF-68 Ultra Cameo. Extremely high grade example with deeply mirrored fields and frosty devices." Another five leva (KM 100) was struck in 1978 for the centennial of the birth of Peio Javoroff. This module was used for NCLT's throughout the seventies.
Recorded mintage: 200,000 proofs.
Specification: 20.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 36 mm diameter.
