Goldberg sale 70, lot 4575

This specimen was lot 4575 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $1,725. The catalog description[1] noted, "Sweden. Riksdaler, 1797-OL. Gustavus IV Adolphus, 1792-1809. Head right. Reverse: Crowned arms in chain. Faint adjustment marks on both sides. A lovely choice original mint fresh lustrous coin with great eye appeal. NGC graded MS-64." This type was struck 1796-97 and is reasonably available in circulated condition.

Recorded mintage: 155,000.
